Resolutions, Revolutions, Raise Solutions.Part 1.

     By Favour Chima Kelechi

Few days ago, a friend asked me about any resolutions I had for the new year. I replied that I had more than resolutions and this person asked me what was more than resolutions.
Revolutions are completed every 365 or 366 days and well, we say a year has gone by after every revolution.
Interestingly, as we approach the end of one revolution and as we approach the start of a new year, most of us are thinking of the new year, what to do and what not to do in the coming year. Many people call these thoughts resolutions and to some others, resolutions are the decisions made after all the thinking and reflection.
Resolutions, the word is almost cliché as it is used ever so often with fresh revolutions and thrown about so freely. Personally, I don't think much of the word anymore. Interestingly, checking the dictionary, you will find that resolutions have some pretty serious meanings. You may find definitions like a strong will, determination, a vow, the state of being resolute and similar definitions depending on the dictionary you choose to use.
If we all took this word as serious as it was supposed to be and if we all kept to our "new year resolutions" in time past, I may not have had an issue with the word or "new year resolutions" phrase. Many resolutions don't live past the first few months of the year or even weeks, maybe days or hours. So, I will say, I made decisions I am committed to for the new year, more than resolutions for the revolutions. Instead of "resolutions", " new year commitments to raise solutions for the revolution" and if you think you want your "resolutions" to bring lasting solutions , then you should agree.
Raise solutions. The New Year comes with its issues and challenges and the solutions you give will either compound the challenges or dissolve them. So, what solutions do you have for whatever you might face? What decisions are you committed to? What decisions have you made? What has changed? Is it still you? Just the way you were last year?
Most of us have one thing or the other we will rather and we don't want to have in The New Year. That thing could be that bad habit, that bad attitude, that lazy attitude, that carelessness or the lackadaisical attitude, what about the  procastination? Don't you want final solutions to them. These things are dangerous , they have the potential to stop any forward movement or "forward ever", they could take one back to zero point(forget square one) and they could lead a useless life. Really dangerous, aren't they? These things that could make the new year like the former year or even worse before you know it and before you know it you are saying " Oh, not again, not this year! It is a new year". Of course, it is a New Year and I advise you to do more than make resolutions, RAISE SOLUTIONS!!!
                             GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY.
