Nigeria's Centenary‏ by Chima Kelechi

Once upon this centenary
I don't know how many of you know but Nigeria is actually 100 years old.
This year, 2014, we celebrate Nigeria's centenary.
Well, specially, it is a time to look at how far we have come and to prepare ourselves and meditate on how far we want to go.
It is a time for our countrymen, leaders and subjects alike to focus on the better things.
Specially, it is time for us , to make evaluations and make decisions according to our evaluations in order to raise solutions.
It is time for us, as individuals, to see ourselves as individually and collectively distinct, able to make distinctions and able to make effort to relief Nigeria of her many burdens.
Time for us to love her as one and to love her citizenry which we are a part of.
That love will inluence all of our decisions, that we put her in our steady , persistent and consistent prayers , that we sympathise with her, even with sincere appropriate emotions as we stand in the gap, shall we?
        O GOD of creation
        Direct our noble cause
        Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
        And living just and true
        Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
        And justice shall reign
                           GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY
